Mohamed Amra, a 30-year-old drug trafficker surnamed "la Mouche," escaped violently on May 14, 2024, in Eure. During the escape, two prison officers were killed, and three others were seriously injured. The escape, caught on surveillance cameras, involved an armed commando attacking the prison convoy. Amra, linked to drug trafficking and suspected of ordering murders, became one of France's most wanted criminals. After nine months on the run, he was arrested in Romania on February 26, 2024, following an operation involving hundreds of gendarmes, the GIGN, and a helicopter. The escape shocked France, highlighting the violence of new drug trafficking networks.
